Age of Extinction has Arrived

#SmuttyCat has been busy in the garden and kitchen. Growing great stuff and trying out new recipies. After all, a feline needs nourishment between naps and movies. Snacks are needed since 2014 is proving to be a bang up year for movies. With Captain America: Winter Soldier already leading the Marvel pack and X-Men Days of Future Past and Transformers coming up quickly. With Transformers: Age of Extinction being partly filmed in Detroit, this is a film near to the furry heart of the SmuttyOne. And it looks to be one fun-filled action ride.

One element that adds to a movie’s success is soundtrack. Great music highlights critical scenes and contributes to the emotional impact. In Arrow, the song Radioactive by Imagine Dragons perfectly highlights a scene of joy, betrayal and foreshadows the death of a major character.

With such cred, #SmuttyCat is eagerly awaiting the use of Imagine Dragons’ song Battle Cry in Transformers: Age of Extinction premiering June 27. Based on the clip below, this should be a worthy successor to Linkin Park’s What I’ve Done. #SmuttyCat is looking forward to expanding his playlist.

#SmuttyCat welcomes new followers Don Charisma and Dr. Anthony’s Blog and hopes you enjoy the (C)rants.

Yep, Batman has a Son

Well, we all knew that Batman/Bruce Wayne had an interesting personal life. Now the backstory of Batman and Talia, daughter of Ra’s al ghul comes back to the forefront in  a new DC animated film, Son of Batman.

This is the story of Batman learning of the son he never knew he had and having to deal with the League of Assains’ training Damian has grown up with.

If the full film is anything like the trailer, DC has another hit. And of course, SmuttyCat is delivering the trailer, courtesy of DC and YouTube.

Jinn a Michigan Made Movie

The movie industry is alive and kicking in Michigan. Latest entrant is “Jinn” a movie from Exodus Pictures written by Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad. This is a mythology based story of the third creature sharing the planet with humans and angels. The race called jinn made of fire.

The story is about an average man who finds out his family has an unusual history linked with these creatures and is cursed. Like most humans, he is skeptical until all crap breaks loose. There is a mystery wise mentor, a crazy man who’s not really crazy and a car.

Not just any car, this one was designed by Ahmad for the movie and is available for sale as a limited edition. How cool is it that a Michigan movie stars a super slick hot rod. SmuttyCat has his order in.

SmuttyCat is proud to introduce you to the trailer if you haven’t seen it. Catch up your naps before April 4 when it is released, you won’t want to miss this one.

Winter Soldier Coming in Spring

SmuttyCat was not sure about the follow-up Captain America film, The Winter Soldier. But after reviewing the trailer, SmuttyCat is looking forward to spring. With the Falcon, a ‘mystery’ villian who can only be Bucky Barnes, and Nick Fury, this is one stand up cast. And of course, the ever lovely and butt-kicking Black Widow.

Chris Evans seems to have gotten wayyy tough since his run in with aliens. Although there seems to be a recurring theme to the movies following Avengers “insert-hero-name-here gets their butt kicked really bad before winning”. Just in case you thought they were going to walk all over the villians now.

SmuttyCat will need to do some power napping in March to prepare for all this action. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, of course SmuttyCat is providing it here. Let us know what you think, epic follow-up or fail?

Thor 2 Bonus Fun

For SmuttyCat, one of the highlights of Thor: The Dark World was Loki (Tom Hiddleston) as comic relief. While not detracting from the main storyline, Loki provided several great moments on screen.

One of the main scenes was not used in the film, but is provided with the DVD/Blu-Ray. This shows Loki dressed as Captain America and needling Thor. The scene was re-shot with Chris Evans mimicking Tom’s performance.

And fear not fans, Loki’s jokester scenes do not detract from how dangerous he is for Asgard and Thor.

In case you haven’t picked up your copy yet, SmuttyCat has the clip below courtesy of io9.com. Comment below on Chris’ take on Loki.

Cattagaddon is Here

OK, some human idiot has published a book that states cats think humans are the same species. John Bradshaw (author of Cat Sense)  thinks cats believe humans are just harmless felines.

He couldn’t be more wrong. Cats are well aware that humans are not felines, but part of the human training regime is to make humans believe they are part of the family. In reality, cats are quite superior to humans and are fully aware of this. Humans are necessary because cat mental evolution has deprived them of opposable thumbs. There are always sacrifices for greatness. Meanwhile, the thumbs of humans are quite handy for opening cans of food, driving to the store for more food and cleaning the litter box.

He does get one fact correct, cats are not domesticated. Cats are wild animals who use humans to make our lives more comfortable and safe. After all, who wouldn’t choose a warm bed or couch over cold dirt or concrete? Only an idiot.

Breaking News — Democracy Suspended!

Human politics are amusing to the superior animal kingdom. With animals, the strong survive, the children are protected and life is simple and clean. No one holds a baby sparrow hostage because they don’t get catnip

On the other hand, human politics involve a lot of silly posturing that could never be backed up in a one on one smackdown for leadership. For instance, a minority Republican party recently shut down the American government in a temper tantrum because they don’t like healthcare being extended to everyone. What a stupid show. If you can’t be the pitcher you take your bat and glove and go home? Very evolved.

Now, SmuttyCat has learned that in a secret meeting, the House Republicans repealed the right of any member of congress to call for a vote to re-open the government in the event of a stalemate. So, not only did the stupid humans shut down the government, they won’t face their bosses (the American people) and vote in public to say they did this.

Um, does anyone remember Democracy? The right of the people to know how the government is run? The right of the people to know and vote on changes? No secret meetings.

Only after the videos below were made public, did the Republicans finally vote to extend the budget and re-open the government. SmuttyCat won’t go into all the ways this is stupid, look at the videos and speak for yourselves.

And remember this stuff next election. Humans deserve adult representatives, not tantrum-throwing toddlers.

Transformers 4 Filming in the “D”

Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4SmuttyCat loves hot cars and giant robots (but he is afraid of giant robots).  So SmuttyCat is super smug these days.  After all,  Transformers 4 is filming in Detroit.  There is a certain excitement to watch parts of your home city being demolished by invisible giant robots that can turn into cars.  After all, if any city would have robots morphing into automobiles, it would be the automotive capital of the world, Detroit.

Speaking of cars, SmuttyCat is in the market for a Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Coupe and a 1200-horsepower Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse.  Anyone know where he can get a deal?

Sadly, filming has moved on to the actual China, not the one built in downtown Detroit, but many fans were kind enough to post video of the time in the “D”.  Enjoy the clips below courtesy of spectators on YouTube and let SmuttyCat know in the comments if you’ll be writing the Big Three to ask “when is my car going to save the world?”.
